I'm Ely Pinto. I write this blog and I am the CISO at a large global firm. Previously I was the head of Third Party Security Strategy and Governance at American Express, and before that the CISO for Bank Leumi USA (now Valley Bank). Throughout my career, I have held several information security leadership and executive roles, and I have a background in software development and Unix engineering.

I am a contributing author to the CIS Security Benchmarks for RedHat Linux, AWS Linux, AIX, Solaris, & Firefox, and I am a volunteer CISSP exam writer. I have a BS in Computer Science and hold CISM, CISSP, and CEH certifications.

Outside of technology, I spend most of my free time with my family, climbing, hiking, and preparing for the next adventure.
